Chicago Bears 2006 Preview

The Chicago Bears are a great time in 2005. They finished and went 11.6 in the playoffs. Their one problem is scoring. Many in the media have touted the Bears as NFC North champions. Are they right? Let's take a look at the 2006 Chicago Bears. Fortunately for them, their division is not that hard.

Key Moves

One major move by the Bears is the addition of Brian Griese. The offense was up and down last season. Griese are fighting for a job. He came on as a backup, but failed to impress Grossman, Griese can do the stones. Their defense loses a great player Jerry Azumah. Despite being only 28, he will call it quits. His body got the best of him.

Quarterbacks

One of issue the last time the health of Rex Grossman. He is expected to be healthy this season. Grossman can help the Bears offense soar. The signing of Brian Griese giving the Bears a solid backup. Although the Grossman goes down, they will experience a horrendous drop. Neither plan has the upper echelon. The Bears QB situation is just above average.

Running Backs

The Bears are sitting pretty in the running game. Thomas Jones should have another big year. They also have Cedric Benson on the wing. The Bears running game was the offense's strong point. Throw in hard blocking Bryan Johnson and you have a ground attack will eat up yards. Thomas Jones 1335 yards last season. As nice as it is, Cedric Benson is expected to be better when he's ready.

Receivers

The receiving core is a bit lackluster. Of course, with Muhsin Muhammad, but he's not getting any more children. Besides Muhammad, there's not too much to be excited about-yet. The young Bears receivers have no talent and can blossom into solid contributors in the field. Right now, the reception of the major is only average.

Defense and Special Teams

Last season it was all about defense. The Bears defense made critical plays continuously and kept their team game. The 2006 Bears defense is above average again. The best part of the defense is the linebacker unit. These are off the charts. The weak part of the fort is the second. Loss of Jerry Azumah was not any help. The Bears were picked up cornerbacks Ricky Manning and Dante Wesley. The second will have to step it up in 2006. The special unit of the team has success and failure. Punter Brad Maynard need to have a better time. The Bears hope that Robbie Gould, horses naninipa, is not only a wonder years. On the plus side, the Bears will add a few people back home can run those types of guys.

2006 prediction

It is possible that the Bears win their division, because the division is weak. However, I think they are a 8-8 team. The schedule is not too hard, but it is not the walk in this park in 2005. In 2005, the Bears have a 2-4 record against really good teams. This is why they faltered in the playoffs. They are not as good as their record indicated. In 2006, they have 8 games that look pretty hard, the middle earth 2 and 6 against the lower tier teams.
